PVB Field Test

Preparation
  1. NOTIFY CUSTOMER
  2. INSPECT AREA
  3. REMOVE CANOPY
  4. FLUSH TESTCOCKS
  5. INSTALL FITTINGS
  6. INSPECT TEST KIT - CLOSE ALL NEEDLE VALVES
   

Test #1 -Test air inlet valve #1 for a minimum of 1.0 psi.
  1. INSTALL TEST GAUGE AND END OF LOW HOSE LEVEL WITH TESTCOCK 2
  2. ATTACH HIGH HOSE TO TESTCOCK 2
  3. OPEN TESTCOCK 2 SLOWLY
  4. OPEN HIGH BLEED - BLEED AIR FROM GAUGE
  5. CLOSE HIGH BLEED
  6. CLOSE OUTLET SHUTOFF VALVE
  7. CLOSE INLET SHUTOFF VALVE
  8. FINGER IN TOP - OPEN HIGH BLEED 1/4 turn max.
  9. RECORD WHEN AIR INLET OPENS > or = 1.0 PSI

Test #2 - Test check valve for a minimum of 1.0 psi in the direction of flow .
  1. CLOSE TESTCOCK 2
  2. REMOVE HIGH HOSE FROM TESTCOCK 2
  3. OPEN INLET SHUTOFF VALVE
  4. ATTACH COMPENSATING (BLEED-OFF) TEE TO TESTCOCK 1
  5. ATTACH HIGH HOSE TO BLEED-OFF TEE on TESTCOCK 1
  6. OPEN TESTCOCK 1 SLOWLY
  7. OPEN HIGH BLEED - BLEED AIR FROM GAUGE
  8. CLOSE HIGH BLEED
  9. CLOSE INLET SHUTOFF VALVE
  10. OPEN TESTCOCK 2
  11. WHEN WATER STOPS RUNNING FROM TESTCOCK 2 RECORD CHECK VALVE > or = 1.0 PSI

Final Steps
  1. CLOSE TESTCOCKS - REMOVE ALL EQUIPMENT
  2. OPEN ALL NEEDLE VALVES ON TEST KIT
  3. REPLACE THE CANOPY
  4. OPEN INLET SHUTOFF VALVE
  5. OPEN OUTLET SHUTOFF VALVE SLOWLY
